David Tárrega
David Tárrega is a Spanish-Czech film and theater composer and conductor. He is currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston a BM in Film Scoring and two minors in musical theater writing and orchestral conducting. Previously, he was classicaly trained for eight years at the Conservatory José Iturbi, Valencia, Spain, with simultaneous training in the theater and film disciplines as an actor and videographer.
At Berklee, he won 2nd place for the “Songs for Social Change” 2026 Scholarship Award for his song Albufera de Alquitrán. In 2024, his first song release “Mi Tierra” gained traction in his homeland Valencia and earned him a series of interviews and press interest. The local news A Punt Notícies regarded him in the daily news as “a Valencian talent with a great career before him who is worth keeping an eye on” (A Punt Notícies June 25th, 2024) and played his music multiple times on air.
David has just completed a collaboration with a Spanish film director to bring the music of Bardoma to the screen; a documentary about the Valencian DANA floods in the Albufera natural park. He composed, orchestrated, conducted and recorded this hybrid score, reaching out and collaborating with more than fifteen musicians. The movie will launch at festivals this spring. In 2025 he was also a lead actor and composer in the Valencian theater Patio de Bustacas, where he wrote and performed an original musical theater piece for the new work Duermevela, a play by Álvaro Figuerola about dreams. He is currently the musical director of the biggest musical theater event at Berklee College of music; Curtain Up! and will be assistant directing The Emperor’s New Clothes in the Fall. He is also the videographer and photographer of the Berklee Musical Theater Club.
